Occupational therapy is a branch of health care that helps people of all ages who have physical,
cognitive and/or psychosocial problems. At Kirsten Beukes Occupational Therapists, our
dedicated, on-site Occupational Therapists can help your employees adjust to working life after
an injury or illness.
Occupational therapy can help your employees if they have an injury, pain, illness, or a
disability that makes it hard for them to complete specific tasks. The goal is to give them the
tools they need to perform better at work and be successful in their daily tasks.
After your claims assessment team determines the validity of a claim, we offer further evaluation to
determine the member’s capacity for work.
Our assessment includes a comprehensive physical, cognitive and psycho-emotional evaluation; and
results are interpreted to determine the member’s capacity to work in their own or an adapted
position, or in an alternative occupation. Our reports include comprehensive recommendations for
reasonable accommodations and/or workplace adaptations. Our therapists offer case management and
vocational rehabilitation following assessment, should the member be determined well-suited to
engage in a rehabilitation process. We offer objective assessments and we provide reports in a
timely manner.
Our Occupational Therapy service can help your employees:
At the appointment, our Occupational Therapists will assess your employees/clients’ capabilities and needs which will guide the assessment and intervention going forward. They will assess physical, cognitive and psychosocial functioning; and identify any limitations. Depending on the results of the assessment and your needs, we’ll make recommendations and suggestions on the best way forward. The intervention will be client-focused; and may include physical rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, adaptation of daily activities, scheduling of your activities and/or vocational rehabilitation.
